CBN May Be The Key To Unlock Your Best Sleep….

Sleep – it might be the most important part of your daily health. From heart function to dementia prevention, sleep nurtures and soothes our bodies, repairing and restoring its internal chemical balance. But, fail to get enough sleep, and your body goes haywire – memories aren’t stored, moods become erratic, and muscles weaken. In fact, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, over 80 million adults in the United States get less than the recommended 7 hours of sleep.

This is where CBN comes in.

Early research indicates CBN is a potent sleep aid – without the addicting effects of prescription sleeping pills. Nor is it just research; anecdotal reports of CBN sleep-inducing qualities are stacking up.

In this article, our team here at Sacramento’s Fiori Delivery will explore the latest scientific research regarding CBN and sleep. We’ll explain what CBN is, how it works, and what you need to do to get the sleep benefits.

What even is CBN?

Cannabinol, or CBN, is one of the big six cannabinoids found in cannabis and hemp. The best known and most well studied of the big six are CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). These two compounds make up the majority of the cannabis plant. CBD is being investigated for numerous health benefits, including sleep and anxiety. Meanwhile, THC is the compound responsible for the “high” feeling.

In comparison, CBN is a minor cannabinoid produced as THC breaks down after exposure to light and air. You’ll often find higher CBN concentration in old cannabis.

Until recently, CBN was largely seen as a waste product. But it’s now starting to be re-evaluated in light of recent evidence.

How does CBN work

Unlike THC, it is a non-psychoactive compound – though it is apparently mildly intoxicating at exceedingly high doses. It functions using the endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is partly responsible for maintaining internal bodily conditions, such as mood, pain perception, apCBN binds to CB1 and CB2 receptors found in the central nervous system. By activating these receptors, CBN produces similar effects to CBD, including pain relief, reduced inflammation, and notably, improved sleep.

CBN and sleep – Is it a sedative?

The association between CBN and sleep has long been known to marijuana users. For years, many noted feeling sleepier the older the cannabis being smoked.

According to a study conducted in 1975, CBN produced substantial sleep pressure in people. Still, sedation only occurred when taking CBN and THC together. Participants felt more drowsy, dizzy, drugged, and drunk when they took CBN in concert with THC, rather than CBN alone.

Indeed, it’s been reported that 5 milligrams of CBN are equivalent to taking 10 milligrams of Valium (Diazepam) – only without the psychoactive effects. That’s a ratio of 2:1!

Almost fifty years since the 1975 study, further progress has been glacial

Nevertheless, the findings are supported by a 1995 study on mice. There, CBN was used to initiate sleep onset and increase sleep duration.

Perhaps the most comprehensive evaluation of cannabinol, published in 2021, was titled: Cannabinol and Sleep: Separating Fact from Fiction. In the paper, the authors found a mere eight papers previously published on the subject. Like the one in 1975, most of these studies contain few participants. Therefore, drawing conclusions remains challenging. Still, the paper did not rule out CBN as a cause of sedation, merely suggesting further research is needed.

CBD American Shaman, a CBD retailer, accepted the challenge, publishing three studies into cannabinoids. One paper, titled Use of a Water-Soluble Form of Cannabinol for the Treatment of Sleeplessness, discovered a significant improvement in length and quality of sleep. Participants fell to sleep faster, woke less, and overall sleep quality was greater.

Many of these studies may be somewhat equivocal – but decades of anecdotal evidence are clear. For example, both Bustle writer Kara McGrath and Daily Beast writer Jillian Lucas reported a significant improvement in sleep quality after CBN use. As Lucas put it, “[CBN] feels like I’ve settled into a warm bath and don’t want to move.”

Pretty amazing, right?

How to use CBN for better sleep

Taking CBN might be the secret solution if you’re trying to sleep better. But how do you even take CBN in the first place?

You could just smoke really old cannabis… but that’s not exactly an appetizing opportunity. Nor is guzzling oils and ointments just before bed.

Here at Fiori Delivery in Sacramento, we stock tasty CBN treats. They’re the perfect bedtime snack. Take the Wyld Elderberry Gummies, for example. This ingenious product uses the best research to develop gummies as delicious as they are effective. Inside each gummy, you’ll find 10 milligrams of THC and 5 milligrams of CBN.

Take the gummy around an hour before bed. It’ll give it time to be absorbed into your system and start working.

Alternatively, try the Kanha Tranquility gummies with a 1:1:1 ratio of CBD, THC, and CBN. Oh, and they’re made with all-natural ingredients, coloring, and flavoring. What’s not to like?

Is CBN safe?

Yes! CBN is absolutely safe. In fact, it’s widely believed no one has ever died from overdosing on any cannabinoid.

Nevertheless, there are a few potential side effects:

Grogginess

Drowsiness

Enhanced THC effect

If you experience any of these side effects, consult a doctor or adjust your CBN dose appropriately.

Conclusion

The evidence is growing – CBN is a potential miracle compound capable of triggering superior-quality sleep with little to no side effects. Nor will it get you high – except in combination with THC.

To get your daily dose of CBN, try Sacramento’s Fiori Delivery. We’re selling the delicious and effective Wyld Elderberry Gummies. Is there a better way to take CBN? If so, we don’t know it.
